Who founded Eat The Change™?

Eat the Change™ was created by Seth Goldman, Founder of Honest Tea and Chair of the Board of Beyond Meat, and Celebrity Chef Spike Mendelsohn.

What’s your mission?

We're part of a movement to promote planet-friendly eating. We do it by creating chef-crafted and nutrient-dense snacks.

What’s the difference between Eat the Change™ and ETC Impact™?

Eat the Change™ is a line of delicious and planet friendly snacks created by activist entrepreneur Seth Goldman and celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn.

ETC Impact™ is our grants program working to promote and expand access to climate-friendly foods. The program is donating $1 million over three years to support a diverse group of community-based and national organizations. To find out more visit ETC Impact.

What does “planet-based” mean?

We originally used the term “plant-based” to describe our jerky, but then realized mushrooms are not actually plants, they’re fungi! So instead we came up with the term “planet-based” to describe our commitment to producing foods without animal products.

But really it’s more than that- planet-based is an approach to eating which takes our holistic impact on the planet into account. Every product we offer will adhere to our five planet-based commitments:

  • USDA Organic
  • Plant/Fungi based
  • As part of our effort to support biodiversity, we will avoid the 6 crops that represent more than half of all agricultural output: sugar, corn, rice, wheat, potatoes and soy
  • Address food waste by upcycling imperfect produce and extending its shelf life
  • Recyclable packaging (or better)

What does “chef-crafted” mean?

Chef-crafted is the approach we take to creating all our products, which are from the mind of our classically trained chef: Spike Mendelsohn! You can expect the following commitments to quality and innovation from us:

  • Create a snacking experience that is memorable and craveable
  • Design unique flavor profiles to best showcase each ingredient
  • Cultivate personal relationships with farmers to drive inspiration
  • Leverage culinary expertise to ensure depth of flavor, color, and texture
  • Advocate for the planet and a better food system. Food should be a right not a privilege.

General Info & Nutrition

Why mushroom jerky?

Mushrooms are among the most sustainably produced foods in the United States. They are also a perfect canvas for the rich and complex flavors you’d expect from a jerky. Our jerky is marinated and wood smoked for a tender, delicious bite.

Where do you source your ingredients?

Our organic mushrooms are sourced from a 4th generation family farm in Kennett Square, PA.

Are your products organic?

Yes, our jerky and marinades are all USDA organic certified by Pennsylvania Certified Organic. Because we’re USDA organic, that also means we’re non-GMO!

Are your products kosher?

Our jerky is not currently kosher certified.

Are your products vegan?

Our jerky is plant/fungi based and there are no animal-based ingredients but is not yet vegan certified.

Do your products contain any artificial flavors or preservatives?

Our jerky does not contain any artificial flavors or preservatives.

Do your products contain any allergens?

Eat the Change products do not contain any of the “top eight” allergens as an ingredient, including: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, or soy. However, they are manufactured and/or packed in facilities that processes products containing milk, wheat, soy, and fish. These facilities adhere to current good manufacturing practices to reduce and/or eliminate the risk of cross contamination.

How can I check the status of my order?

You can click the link received in your email, or login to your account here to check your current order status. You’ll also receive an email notification when your order is out for delivery or has been delivered.

Where does Eat The Change ship?

Currently we ship to any of the fifty United States, but not Canada or US territories. Check back with us in the future!

When can I expect my order?

We ship orders 1-2 days after they’ve been placed via USPS Priority Mail or a similar ground service to arrive to you in 2-4 business days from shipping. We currently do not offer overnight shipping. You’ll receive an email to track your order once shipped!

How can I change or cancel my monthly subscription?

You can login to your account here if you registered when you placed your first order. If you need us to change or cancel your subscription for you, just visit our Contact Us page and drop us a line!

How can I login to my account?

You can login to your account here. If you receive an error, you may not have registered for an account yet -- placing an order does not automatically create an account.

Can I use more than one discount code on my order?

Sorry, but we can only accept a single discount code for each order. Thanks for understanding!
