Eco-conscious Brands and Notable Chefs Team Up to Show How Daily Lifestyle Changes Can Help Address Climate Change

Bethesda, MD – [March 30, 2022]: Eat the Change, the company on a mission to create chef-crafted and planet-friendly snacks, announces the launch of its third annual #incrEDIBLEplanetchallenge, a 21-day social media campaign to encourage people to make simple diet and lifestyle changes to reduce their environmental footprint.

Starting on April 1, the campaign seeks to inform and empower consumers to make small lifestyle changes during Earth Month by participating in social media challenges that show how food choices represent our single biggest daily opportunity to address climate change and reduce CO2 emissions. Since its inception in 2021, the collective impact of the #incrEDIBLEplanetchallenge has saved an estimated 100,00+ lbs. of emissions.

Eat the Change has teamed up with some of the country’s favorite mission-driven brands to participate this year, including Beyond Meat®, PLNT Burger, Proud Source, Bamboozle, Eclipse, Gimmie, Lunchskins, Spudsy, RIND, Nuts for Cheese, Om, Cerebelly, Equator Coffees, Wicked Kitchen, and more. Acclaimed chefs and culinary talent have also signed on to take part in the challenge, including Chefs Stephanie Izard, Chad Sarno, Grace Ramirez, Tom Colicchio, Ming Tsai, Maneet Chauhan, and Michel Nischan.

“We love bringing people together to inspire more planet-friendly diets,” said Seth Goldman, co-founder of Eat the Change. “With each year, we welcome new brand partners and new participants to join our cause.”

Each daily challenge highlights approachable ways in which participants can make adjustments to their shopping and eating habits to make a smaller environmental footprint. Participants will discover simple modifications they can make, like swapping from animal milk to plant milk, choosing organic or low water usage crops, making a meal out of leftovers, or creating a composting plan. Through a partnership with EcoCart, participants can track how their choices make a quantifiable impact each day in reducing CO2 emissions. Participants are encouraged to post about their experience on Instagram stories by tagging @eatthechange  with the hashtag #incrEDIBLEplanetchallenge.

“The #IncrEDIBLEplanetchallenge is a mission that Wicked Kitchen is proud to align with,” said Chad Sarno, co-founder of Wicked Kitchen. “By working together and empowering others to make a difference, we believe small actions can lead to big changes. We’re thrilled to take part in this initiative this year, and show our fans and consumers just how easy it is to make a real impact.”

Eat the Change Co-founder Spike Mendelsohn among other chef partners will also offer recipes for participants to recreate at home. Giveaways and challenges will be announced throughout the 21-day campaign. To get started, participants can pledge their involvement via Eat the Change’s website, which allows them to receive challenge reminders and planet-friendly resources. At the conclusion of the challenge, participants will be able to see the CO2 emissions they’ve saved from the challenge.

Additionally, Eat the Change will celebrate Earth Month with an activation on April 18th at Times Square in New York City from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where passersby will be able to sign up for the #IncrEDIBLEplanetchallenge in person, sample Eat the Change products and take part in Earth Month photo opportunities, among other surprises.
