Mushroom Jerky Souvlaki with Tzatziki

Eat the change the Greek way with our Mushroom Jerky Souvlaki and Tzatziki recipe!  Featuring our Sea Salt + Cracked Pepper Mushroom Jerky, this meat-less take on a traditional Greek dish is taking planet-based flavors to the next level!

Cook time: 25-30 mins

For Souvlaki: 


  • 1 pack Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Eat the Change Mushroom Jerky 
  • 6 oz portabella mushrooms, sliced  
  • 2.5 oz shiitake mushrooms 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped 
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • Sliced tomato 
  • Sliced red onion  
  • Green leaf lettuce 
  • Pita bread 
  • Assorted pitted olives 
  • Pepperoncini or other pickled mild pepper 
  • Vegan Tzatziki (recipe below) 



  1. Toss mushrooms with red wine vinegar, oil, oregano, salt and pepper. Allow to marinate for about 10 mins. Heat large saute pan over medium heat. Sautee mushrooms until brown and tender. Add in Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Eat the Change Mushroom Jerky 
  1. Layer lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, peppers, and mushrooms on pita bread. Top with vegan Tzatziki and enjoy! 


For Tzatziki:


  • 8oz vegan coconut yogurt 
  • 1 whole cucumber finely grated and drained cucumber 
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced 
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped or 1 ½ tsp dried dill 
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped or 1 ½ tsp dried mint 
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon 
  • ½ tsp kosher salt 
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper 



Combine all ingredients. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
